I'll tell you what really hacks me off.
I know the vacation flag in not an insurance policy against getting timed out, BUT...
I recently took a few days off and put up the vacation flag and made a point of putting up a notice of my intended return date.
Some rating-hungry soul timed me out anyway.
Yes, I know it's his prerogative, but it's hardly sporting is it?
I mean, it's just a game, for heaven'e sake.
I got auto-timed out from a couple of tournament matches, but I can live with that.
However, bad sportsmanship really rubs me the wrong way.

As for people moving while they have the vacation flag up, why not?
If they get the chance to move, they should take it.
It keeps the game moving along, so why criticise it?

Ah trust... and doing the right thing....Don't you wish everyone played by the "rules" sporting, I mean.... I agree. Had a chance to time out a player I was clearly winning against, did not because of the vacation flag. (got to thinking, when they come back and start playing, I could REALLY screw up and lose,) Would I have deserved to win? Methinks not!! Oh the Humanity!

I have to post this.

Thanks nice people. Nikki, chancremechanic, Nyxie, karnachz... for your good wishes.

I will not bore you with my jokes... At least during the next 2 weeks 🙂
It's only "copy and paste", I know... 😳 But I always have tried to select the best ones, so walking thru my humble collection was somewhat difficult at times.

Returning to bed just now.

Hope I can "see" you here in the forums. May be tomorrow.

Have sweet dreams, and a happy nice day.

Michael

It should be possible to bar a player from moving when displaying the vacation flag.
Claim the win and move on! 😏

If I have the right game, it was a 3 day timeout with a 7 day timebank. You could be gone for 10 straight days before getting timed out with those settings. But you got timed out after only a "few days." Now, how would that happen? Would it be because you frittered your timebank away beforehand? That would seem to be the case to me. It's up to you to manage your games responsibly. If your opponent rightfully claims a victory because you violated the timeout agreement, then you've got no one to blame but yourself. Take your lumps and move on.
