I realize my post may have mislead many of you into thinking that I am down and out... Nah, I've got 100 G's put away, but I don't want to retire HERE (in the US). So what I was trying to find out was where is a good place in the world for people with a few bucks and a $4000/month retirement to retire?
One thing I do is never buy a new car. I always buy a used car because they are cheaper and cars depreciate so much. I save money that way.

It's fascinating business - no real right or wrongs but a great area for debate. My last company went for £3m - which I managed to hugely dent with some crappy investments and too much time to try to be clever - so I started again......
$4K a month, times 12 months, times 20 years. Thats almost a million bucks?? I am assuming your retiring at about 65 and that your planning on living to 85? With rising health care cost, inflation etc, I would consider saving some more money. If the $4K is a pension of some sort, I would pray that it still exsist in 20+ years. If it was me, I would have to assume that it wont be there....
