I started using the term in 1978 just after I started the punk scene and they copied me.
Actually, I started the punk scene in Brighton ~ we extended it to Hove as well ~ in 1976 when I was with the Russian Русская мафия [a.k.a. the Bratva] when they decided to radically transform their Sussex coast zips and safety pins operations.

I'd flown in planes long before I rode a motorbike. You've been living your life back to front
I had my first motorcycle in 1980; a blue Suzuki GSX250
Edit which I nearly killed myself on.

However I didn’t pass my test until 20 years later.

I flew on my first plane in 1972. It was a Hawker Siddeley HS-121 Trident. Mostly white with a red stripe.

I didn't know this was supposed to be a liar's thread.

Oh no. You're not referring to humorous remarks are you?

Is this "a lie" ~ or rather, two "lies" ~ or is it just levity?

@the-gravedigger

I've just created a Ven diagram of those who won World Cup in 1978 for Argentina and the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in the same. No overlap.

YOU CAN ONLY HAVE WON ONE OF THEM. NOT BOTH.

The Hawker Siddeley HS-121 Trident (originally the de Havilland DH.121 and briefly the Airco DH.121) is a British airliner produced by Hawker Siddeley. In 1957, de Havilland proposed its DH.121 trijet design to a British European Airways (BEA) request. By 1960, de Havilland had been acquired by Hawker Siddeley. The Trident's maiden flight happened on 9 January 1962, and it was introduced on 1 April 1964, two months after its main competitor, the Boeing 727. By the end of the programme in 1978, 117 Tridents had been produced. The Trident was withdrawn from service in 1995.

my first bike
My last bike was a 2004 Harley Davidson Fatboy in black with a stage 1 tune and Screaming Eagle mufflers. I sold it in 2008 for £10,000 a few months before the financial crisis hit. It was a lot of capital to be sat in the garage most of the year. I’m a fair-weather biker.

My next and last ever bike, if I ever get around to buying one, will most likely be a 10 year old (ish) Honda ST1300 Pan European which I shall look at a lot between occasional ride-outs.

That’s a small bike for a big lad; did you find your arse-cheeks got clipped by the rear wheel spokes?

Levity sums in up nicely. Seems that it has fallen on deaf ground and stony ears in some quarters.
