The post that was quoted here has been removedFor all the women here, you are stating only the glaringly obvious. This is why I stopped playing OTB tournaments years ago. It's also why I stopped dropping by the local chess clubs. The initial attention is "interesting" to say the least, but it loses its appeal once you realize that you're the focus of attention not because of your intelligence and beauty but only because you have two X chromosomes.
Most of the men here aren't listening at all by now to anything you're saying anyways.
Either way, railing about it 'til the cows come home isn't going to effect much change.
Women had it made until they wanted to lower their status and become "equal" with men.
The term equity is lost among most women.
Edit: Also, bandying about the term sexism is, in itself, sexist. For instance, if you call me sexist against women it is because of your own belief in how a man should treat a woman.
If you want to be treated equally then I will treat you how I would treat a man who wears a bra... but then you would call me sexist.
Edit2: If you want to be treated equally then I will expect you to be able to do everything that an average male can do... when you can't you'll call me sexist.
I think in this day and age men are more a victim of sexism than women are.
Ever since women started rallying for equal rights among males and females the term equity was gone amongst the stars.
