was thinking the same thing (about it being a SK story). if i remember correctly im sure he was an ex-surgeon turned drug smuggler and he used the contents of his "package" as anesthetic and to supress the hunger pains. as red knight says it was very unsettling if i remember rightly.

Here is a scenario that involes making an important choice which could one day save your life in a survival situation.
The only problem is, rescue takes a long time and you are forced to take exreme measures for food- namely yourself.
So this is the critical question, what part of yourself would you eat first.

So you were on a plane which crashed into the bermuda triangle and sunk, you are the only survivor.
You find a small island which has no food and have to sit and wait for the rescue.
The only problem is, rescue takes a long t ...[text shortened]... oblem and eat their body parts in other orders or am I just about right with how to go about it?
Originally posted by tomtom232but after only a few days, rational decision-making processes are severly impared. you need to maintain a steady source of food, and you need to make a quick plan while you're hydrated. the mind becomes irational during dehydration(a period of a few hours) and you need a plan of survival to try to focus on when you start to "whig"
I wouldn't cut anything off! I would cut chunks of meat that could heal so then I wouldn't have to go around with less toes. btw you can go three months without food.
Originally posted by rubberjaw30my point is that there is no way that rescue would take that long to get there(that is assuming that the pilot wasn't a douche bag and announced mayday over the radio{and thats assuming the radio worked})

oh and you are on an island water all around...who gives a flying shiit about giardia.
