July is the worse month, June or early September is when you get your 23c. When kids are either going back to school or doing their exams, that's when the weather is good, 100% met office guaranteed.

Also the long days are my favourite.
yeah, here when its scorching the teenagers go to the rivers and do death defying jumps from the river bank into the pools below, its pretty dangerous.

Yep, I'm in Scottsdale.

The only two things I hate about living here are the summer heat and the overabundance of Republicans. Other than that, it's a great place to live.
Have you been to a concert at the Kerr cultural center? My wife and I used to inhabit the place, put on concerts from bands and such besides our own sets of music. Don't know if you ever heard of a Scots band called Silly Wizard but they stayed at our home near the now defunct Los Arcos mall, close to Hole in the Rock. I came home from work, which was in Chandler at General Instruments to see 3 or 4 guys on the roof of our house then disappearing, they were jumping into the pool from the roof🙂 That was Silly Wizard. Phil Cunningham was the leader, he is a virtuoso on accordian you couldn't even see his fingers move, they were just blurs during their set, amazing band. He does a duo now with Aly Bain, another Scots fiddler, also a virtuoso in Scots and Irish music, he is also a charactor, we met in Hollywood at Judy Gameral's house in Beverly hills where we did rehearsals, Judy was one of our band Southwind. So we met a lot of the Irish and Scots bands who came through town back in the day. I remember Aly getting a bit drunk and walking across the street in Hollywood saying 'I'm a vikin, a MIGHTY vikin'. He is a charactor🙂
Southwind was based in Venice Beach but Judy lived in Beverly hills, her dad was Art Gameral, #3 man at 20th century fox, the comptroller, the dude the producers went to beg for money🙂

I mean the whole idea of letting a marauding band of Scots musicians into your home is pretty hip dude, don't you think? and hanging out with the daughters of Hollywood executives is also pretty hip, 'yeah sure just find a corner of my mansion to crash in, the maids will make your breakfast in the morning'.

They had a nice house, just short of mansion, no maids and such. Judy's mom and dad both died and last I talked to her she didn't know if she could keep the place. A nice big house but short of mansion size still, anything like that in Beverly hills would be taxed up the kazoo and I don't think she did anything but a few bit parts in movies, her dad helped her with that I suppose, she was a great hammer dulcimer player and got a lot of movie work like in 'the Long riders' and such as a musician but it wasn't steady, which was one reason I had to quit Southwind and keep up my techie jobs.
She for sure was poster girl for American Jewish princess, she didn't get a drivers licence till she was 27, for instance, since one parent or other would driver her wherever she wanted to go.
I remember one music camp near lake Tahoe, I think it was called Ames or Aimes Lodge, anyway I saw a glass table she had put her female stuff, hair stuff, fingernail polish, sprays and perfumes and the like, the table looked like a redneck bar, you know the kind where the whole table is full of empty beer bottles, that was it, except the bottles were a few cm high, but the whole table was full of that stuff🙂 Still, you put up with that stuff because she was a virtuoso on hammer dulicmer. You should have seen me when I worked Southwind, I was Schlep, carrying her hammer dulcimer, my guitar and mandolin and a mic stand or two into the venue🙂

I guess you came from a different era, I know you are a great guitar player, electric mostly it seems. Have you purued my latest pieces on SC? Some new ones and some trad too. I also put in pictures of some of my grandkids in thumbnail to some of them I wrote tunes for. You still have the link to my SC?

It WAS a great time rehearsing at Judy's place for sure. Their grandad one time I remember had a birthday party and there were senators in attendance, way out of MY pay grade for sure🙂 Nice party though!

Michael Bloomfield (Analine is a superb album) some Steven Stills, early Dylan, Bert Yansch, Planxty, Lightnin Hopkins, Maddy Prior, June Tabor, The Old Blind dogs (best Scottish band evah) some Clannad, Altan, some Loreena McKennitt, Kate Rusby (she has the most gorgeous voice) Jackson C Frank, artists like that.

perhaps a pagan would be interested in some Garmarna? they have some beautiful Scandinavian folk.
