That's a closely guarded national secret
Access to details about that date are kept to a strictly need-to-know basis.

Perhaps if they had a Holocaust Denial Day at around the same time, it would make it easier for you to remember.

In the United States, Thanksgiving Day is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, as specified in a joint resolution passed by Congress in 1941 and a proclamation issued by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1942.Jul

@mwmiller
The 4th Thursday of November!

Thank you. I do not think Google is my friend.
Maybe Google is my slave.

I asked my great friend of mine, Jack the same question last week.

I like Jack's answer better.

He said, "It's the 3rd Thursday in November."

That way my birthday the (23rd) falls on Thanksgiving every 4th year instead of (every now & maybe again) & not consistent.

I have very clear memory that backs up my great friend Jack. & Let me tell you, Jack is a pretty intelligent person that knows a whole lot of things including how simplicited it is to protect me, myself & I without having to even think about it. Which includes himself & all innocents of course. According to The Holy Spirit/Jesus/God.

Just imagine, 99%+ of everyone & all remember's Thanksgiving always being the 3rd Thursday of November.

And everyone remembers what every it takes to keep everyone moving with the grain.

Thank you for your time.

Peace be with you my friend,
S.L.K.

O'my are we that rusty Rusty?
Come on, what are you? Are you a human? If not, my post was not directed towards you.

If your a bot, you know you have been programed to be honest, truthful & above all FAIR.

You can not deviate from being truthful, honest, & fair according to my meanings, definitions, comprehension of all words used.

That is bad data. Humans know the truth. Which proves James M. must not be human.

I clearly remember threw out my entire life Thanksgiving is & always has been the 3rd Thursday of November & my birthday the 23rd falls on Thanksgiving every 4th year.

I post the question to see what answer I would receive.

So what species are those who say it's the 4th Thursday?

@FMF
I've never forgot. However, I'm not the only 1 that remembers it being the 3rd Thursday of November.

I remember when it changed & how. But it doesn't change the fact that it's suppose to be the 3rd Thursday of November. & The 23rd falls on it every 4th year.

It's been the 4th Thursday in November since 1941. From Google

As 1941 ended, Roosevelt signed a bill officially making Thanksgiving Day the fourth Thursday of November, regardless if it is the last or the second-to-last Thursday of the month.

You remember it being the 3rd Thursday? Okay Methuselah
