Not knocking your tastes, but I know Italian food very well. There's decent pizza downtown, but far from my office. Carmine's on Bryan near the DMA is not bad pizza. Kuoni, in the underground has decent eclectic Asian.
Why not try spaghetti warehouse?, that's good.
Originally posted by scacchipazzoThere are several good places to eat in downtown Dallas. Stephan Pyles Restaurant in the Arts District is fantastic. Al Biernat's on Oak Lawn, The Palm, Nobu, Fearing's at the Ritz Carlton, The Old Warsaw on Maple, The Fuse on commerce...there are many high end restaurants. Of course if you want something a little less expensive you have the original El Fenix and there are several decent places in the tunnels around the Renaissance Tower and up town has a lot of good places.
Any day, my man! Don't expect good eatin downtown Dallas, though.
ok, now you've got a new reason.

A Real Bowl of Red
For many non-Texans, the defining trait of Texas chili is the stuff that's not in it: most notably beans, ground beef, and cheese. True Lone Star chili is a simple yet powerful thing: cubed beef chuck simmered with tomatoes and chili powder for hours before being thickened with masa harina (corn flour). The version pictured is from Woody DeSilva's winning recipe at the 1968 Terlingua, Texas, chili cook-off, now in its 43rd year.
