I think in real life I might just have walked off... that's my normal reaction. But otherwise I'd say I'm pretty much the same here as outside.
In real life you have that option to just walk away. You can either walk off or punch em in the nose. Myself I don't do to others until they do to me. If in real life a person were to hassle me or pull the crap that has been pulled on me on these forums or by private message I would tell them to kindly go F-themselves. If they kept on and did not leave me alone we would have a real problem.

The problem is is that here you cannot get away from people because they keep on and on, they don't go away, and there is nothing you can do about it. There are only certain people that I have problems with on this site and they can be counted as less than as many fingers as I have on my right hand. They are the site bullies who's $hit dosn't stink.

I believe most people pretend a lot in "real life", too. In some ways I am more myself online than in "real life". I have learned to fake "normal" behaviour pretty well (maybe not as well as I used to think, judging from the non-surprised reaction of my boss when I told her I'm autistic...), and if I am together with "neurotypical" people whom I don't know extremely well, I usually pretend to be normal. That's mostly a survival strategy, and a way not to get unwanted attention. I think being weird is more accepted on the internet than in "real life", and I don't have to worry about losing my job etc., so I can safely be weird.

Interesting post, Nordlys, I relate to that--I had to learn to fake normal until it came natural. Ly. The Internet can be a good place to try out routines that can be incorporated into the quotidien.
