An awful lot of folk post references that are made in Wikipedia, as if it were a divine oracle.
I'm not saying it's not, but it is after all the product of some knowledge and (probably) more opinion...if no one counters a Wiki entry, it is accepted by rote (by and large).
Reminds me of something....
Ah, yes, I have it now....
2000 years from now, will we swear upon the Wiki ??

It doesn't say anything about swearing upon the Wiki 2000 years from now, so I don't believe that will happen.
Originally posted by ZadadkaI agree. It is open to editing by anyone, so it needs fact-checking. However, Michael Shermer (founder of the Skeptics Society) noted on the Colbert Report a few weeks ago that a study (undertaken by whom, I'm not sure) of the accuracy of Wikipedia found that it was about as accurate as the Encyclopedia Britannica. So I guess that annoying 4-eyed little *h*t is going to be appearing on commercials selling us subscriptions to Wikipedia in the near future. 😕

Instead of some anonymous website, how about we just accepted the word of Nordy, Red...or...and I hate myself for saying this Stocky, Cartan & Eldragonfly.....God Love 'Em.

Wikipedia is GREAT. You need to be wary of some articles where opinion is passed as fact, but i don't see what all the condmnation is about, it's a terrific resource about almost anything you can think of.
