Dr. Stupid duecer, don't accuse for me being a republican, I am independent!

I am also a tax accountant and I can easily see that the Fair Tax is the ONLY reasonable tax alternative! Yes, that would take my job away, but it would be good for the country. Like shipping labor intensive jobs abroad, which forces more capital intensive jobs to be imported; that what is what we want in any case.

Harri / Luck
all you loser ratdlicans who know McBush is going to lose this election so you cry "I'm an independant"; meanwhile you've voted republican for tha last 10 elections. You are intellectully dishonest.

Fair tax? are you talking flat tax? cuz maybe you need to go back to the drawing board on that one. flat taxes are a joke, they are a pipe dream for the rich, and will shift an inordinate burden to the lower and middle class.

edit: working 3 months a year at H&R Block does not make you a tax accountant

Well, if I got one, according to Palin, I should be entitled to a private school education provided by the federal government.
So you have one!
Of course, you should be entitled to a voucher if you do not want to take your child to public school because that school do not need the money since your child is not in that school.

Fair Tax has nothing to do with flat tax, GET EDUCATED because you need to think before you speak, otherwise, you might say what you think! :o)

Does the Department of Treasury know how much chess you play? I can only hope you are not involved in how this government rescue plan is going to be implemented.

That is the biggest load of bull ever.

Government spending causes debt and enough debt causes recession. What has happened since W has been president? I don't know... Maybe a war that has cost the nation billions and billions of dollars! Besides this is Bush's 8th year... Let me see now... Yep! 8 is greater than 7!

Learn to read first, Oh I forgot, you skipped that part of the school!

An average 7 years, it could be 5 to 9 years.

The fact is we have the mortgage crisis now! Thanks Clinton!

Why would I as foreigner support U.S.politics?
As you know, most of the foreigners vote against Bush because we are jealous of the great country and we want it to fail. By us supporting the socialists and other democrats, we will succeed!

If it was 5 years then it would have to be bush. If it was 9 years then Clinton would have had to scramble in the last year of his presidency to purposefully make bogus policies. Either way it's just more illogical repulican propaganda.

Edit: by the way, you are not doing a very good job supporting obama if you haven't noticed that by now...

If you check the calender, Clinton was in the office three weeks in 2001. When did this crisis start, 2007, or actually late 2006!

Ayers was far more than a passing associate of Bill Ayers.

The fact that Ayers is teaching at a college proves nothing (except the low quality of the college)

Obama has a cast of characters in his circle of friends that are of less than stellar character.

The "crisis" started when bush was elected. On a serious note this "crisis" didn't start until the stock markets before that until then this "crisis" didn't "show up in every day life."

That's freakin' stupid. We should have the rich who can afford to take their children out of the slummy public schools not have to pay taxes to support children whose parents don't have enough money to get them out? We would see a widening of the class gap and a rise in crime.

Ayers is currently a professor at the University of Illinois, obviously he is teaching the next generation of Americans. How could a university entrust these youn ...[text shortened]... ist" who is said to be such a horrible person?

Something just doesn't add up here.

To answer the question, albeit indirectly:

Attacks on character may be effectual in some circumstances.

People want simple answers to complex questions; if hierarchy exists, the result is conflict. People will believe and act on what they are told in some situational contexts.
