(F8 also might work)
edit - When I had my recent PC meltdown, F8 did bring me to the screen you're looking for, but it did not successfully reboot from last successful boot. It's kind of hit or miss, depending on the nature of your problem.

Anyone else noticed XP getting a bit flaky lately? Especially after 'critical updates'?
Call me a cynic, but perhaps Vista sales need a boost.

When you run the fdisk command to create, delete, or change a partition, all of the data on that partition is permanently deleted.
Thanx folks. f8 got me where I wanted, but the computer wants a Service Pack 2 disk. I got some worm... dialed up at home and didn't get the last update of Zone Alarm. Today I'll get the CD from MY MAN.
The computer won't even get into win xp, so I can't use the start button etc. ass skeeter suggests.
That p-166 with 28K modem had me online for about 30 minutes last night checking around the posts and had to re-boot 3 times as the computer locked up often. Still nice to have an extra computer for emergency use... and it cracks me up getting on it. That bad boy is running win95... STRONG!

FDisk kills the logical drive PERMANENTLY. It will get rid of viruses, spyware and *most* malware, but it's a bit drastic.
