The point is where the square is located and which piece it is that starts on the square and the rules that govern the moves
after that, any color is just a marker for clarity
now, this one guy i saw yesterday had one green and one yellow sock. that was just plain wrong! i could have vomited even though he was kind of cute, nice you know what and all
i guess he could have been color blind
he probably would have bought one of those chess sets and just turned the board when he went to play
