Interpol to send undercovers to chess sites

Debates

It has been reported that death cults prone to mass suicide are recruiting adepts in certain correspondence chess sites. In such groups, the leader tends to organize a clique (called clan or club) and then replicate it with the same members in other so called clans or clubs (some of them even titled as caretakers, guards, or sheriffs of the original clique).

According to David V. Barrett, author of Secret Societies: From the Ancient and Arcane to the Modern and Clandestine, secret societies are any group that possesses the following characteristics:

1. It has "carefully graded and progressed teachings"
2. Teaching are "available only to selected individuals"
3. Teachings lead to "hidden (and 'unique'😉 truths"
4. Truths bring "personal benefits beyond the reach and even the understanding of the uninitiated."

Hence, when one of these so called chess clans promotes some moral teachings under the shadow of certain character, who faces the enemies (e.g. site admins, or forum moderators, I mean, just as an example), the experts argue that the feeling of being under threat is triggered amongst the members of the "clan", making it even more dangerous because if the paranoia grows then the leader may call for mass suicide as the only answer to demonstrate their truth or free themselves from the (imaginary) persecution.

Therefore, I say that Interpol should create users in such chess forums and infiltrate those "clans", so the risks are monitored and further tragedies can be avoided. Just like with kiddy porn, which is another pest we all should fight and defeat.

Let's not forget that if webcams can facilitate sex... they can also facilitate simultaneous mass suicide!

Wow! This is scary stuff!

How do they recommend us to do in case a family member gets caught up in these cults?

I think you should better call your local Interpol office... buuuuut I've heard that the first thing is to speak with your clan leader and demand him not to send anymore challenges to those clans suspicious of being death cults.

When they claim to be silenced because of the outside threat, they are even more dangerous!

Aha! Nice info. I'll PM you with the details of Monsieur Poirot, who's conducting the investigations.
