Holy cow, i just heard on the radio that some kid committed suicide on an online body builder website. He took pills while forum users egged him on. Does anyone know if it's the same site that got posted the other day??

I don't think it's the ladyboy from that other site...

I do think so, see second paragraph:

He had already left a suicide note on an online bodybuilding forum, and told users in another internet chatroom that he planned to kill himself.

Wow! Did you read to the end? Someone actually committed suicide when someone in a forum told him to "f****** do it!!" Why didn't he just move forum? 😕

Chances are they would have done it anyway. If talked out of it, they would have gone to another site until someone said, "do it".

If that's not the case, they would have done it at a party, the market, a pub... anywhere for some attention it seems. No one ends up killing themselves unless they've put a LOT of thought into it is my guess.

He obviously had intended on doing it anyways in my opinion. Just imagine if that happened here, people would be telling him fast ways to do it, no doubt in my mind about that.

Some of the most rude and ignorant people I have ever seen troll the internet forums, with no regard for anyones feelings. They even feel more powerfull if they happen to have a group behind them. It is really a sad thing to see at times.

Well, i'd love to see the body builder post. If it is the same guy, that'd be insane! Though i suspect given the infamous thread it'd have made it into the press by now...

So... wwwwhat are you saying exactly? That encouraging people to commit
suicide is ok, because they will do it anyway, if encouraged elsewhere? 😕

I have NEVER seen anything like that in my 5 years here at RHP. You really exaggerate things, like the time Crowley told YOU there were no rules he had to like you and you next claimed "Crowley once said he hated me". Big difference.

No, I would never encourage it or say it was alright to. I'm just saying chances are he had it in his mind and may have been waiting for someone to say it.

If it wasn't that web site, it would be the next. It could be anywhere.

But then again, if you're the sensitive, suicidal kind of person,
exaggeration and over interpretations may be common traits to
you (not implying anything Rusty), so speaking in a demeaning and
malicious manner to someone you don't know may just lead that
someone over the edge.

Also, not every suicide is accompanied by dramatic statements and/or
media coverage. For all we know, hundreds of members who left this site
could have committed suicide because of how these forums made them
feel. You never know.

Hundreds?! That's crazy. 1 or 2... perhaps. I can't say I like to even think about it.

Must we treat EVERYONE with kid gloves for fear they may have suicidal tendency? Should we not disagree with and engage user's ideas if we don't agree for fear they will take it as a personal attack rather than what it is?

All I'm saying is that unless I'm familiar with the actual person sitting
on the other side (through experience communicating with him/her in
the forums or through personal acquaintance) so that I can be reasonably
certain that (s)he's not taking everything I say with a mortal seriousness, I
try to choose my words when angry or frustrated (or check in via PM to
make sure (s)he's ok). I wouldn't want to go around wondering if I've
pushed someone over the edge. That'd be a tough thing to live it.

No Crowley said: He HATED me, never mind trying to defend something you don't even know about!

Who said I was talking about RHP...I was talking about internet Forums..>DID I SAY RHP forum...NO I DID NOT....You are quick to ASSUME things!!

Pay attention closer to what is actually being said not what YOU think is being said! "VERY BIG DIFFERENCE"

What I said about our forums, is that if that happened here people would be telling him quicker ways to do it....Argue that point if you wish...!

None taken. As I am not suicidal, overly sensitive, or do I exagerate over interpretations, regardless of what Phlabby might like you to think.

I did the Job Phlabby does for close to 5 years, the only difference is, I did it much better than he does. He really doesn't like to hear that, or the truth sometimes, bothers him quite a lot, but I am sure he can handle it like a man. 😉
