Look at how nicely the HINT tags work on this page. You can have hints within hints, and multiple lines of text, multiple diagrams, etc. etc.
Meanwhile, we here at RHP labor on with one line only allowed per [ hidden ] tag, no diagrams, no quotes, no apostrophes (!) ...
Please please please can we have something like this?
Originally posted by greenpawn34Yeah, I prefer here too OVERALL - but they admittedly have some nice chess-related features that this site lacks, like the HINT tags, a more sensible playing interface [move history and analyze board are right on the game page - no need to load any further pages to use them], and better conditional moves implementation.
Nice. but prefer here
I notice they have a general Forum with this added.
'Post anything you want here, doesn't have to be chess related;
but please - no politics or religion
Also all the mods are listed and named.
Go check and see.
Nice but prefer here even with the small bug in the PGN thingy.
Oh, and drag and drop piece movement! Been asking for that one for months here. No dice.
Nothing wrong with nullifying the competition's few advantages, is there?!
There is good and not so good features on both sites - drag/drop or point-and-shoot is a player option on SM, but not offered on TFC. The hint/tags, non-reload of the analyse board, history and material pages, no politics/religion in the fora attracts whilst the ruff and scruff code of this site also appeals. Moderator transparency is not an issue but the heavy hands of the newbies is becoming an issue here.
I subscribe and play on both sites and enjoy each in for what they uniquely provide.
Each to their own.

Surely that is asking for very little.

Yes by all means they should go in and nick a few ideas.
But there again I'm a traditionalist. I hate change.
I play openings busted in the 60's (the 1860's), I listen to The Beatles
all day and I still wear the clothes my father wore.
No leave everything broken - including the PGN thingy as any attempt
to repair it will no doubt break something else.
