its a very difficult question to answer, for much of the influence is Norse as well. indeed , the King of the Isles, a title given to the land of Islands that lies between Scotland and Ireland were ruled over by the Norwegians. Dublin was once in Danish hands etc etc. the theory is, that the Celts were pushed northwards and westwards by the influx of invaders. i think it is the remnants of the language which is used to determine the diaspora, thus from northern France, through Cornwall, through Wales , through Ireland and up through to the western Isles and parts of highland Scotland they speak Gaelic, the language of the ancient Gales.
