The funny thing is: after you've made all your moves you still think about the position (at least i do). One time i was at a barbecue and was having a hot dog and i suddenly stood up. "What's the matter with you?" my wife said.
"My God," I said. "What if he move the other way?"
Of course, everybody looked at me as if i were crazy. When i had made my move, attacking the knight, i foresaw my opponent's knight trapped in every direction. I didn't notice at the time he could also move into a space where my pawn would take him because the darn pawn was pinned. I was just eating the hot dog and my mind dreamily went back to the game and i was savoring also eating the knight when i suddenly realized the beast wasn't really trapped! After the BQ I rushed back and looked at the position and I was right. There was the knight sitting diagonally to the pawn. It was a long time ago. Sometimes i envy people who can put their chess into a compartment and enjoy the rest of their lives.

Only with those games I'm really spending time on and concerned about.
You're sleeping, but your brain is still working, crunching the position.
