Is it just my opinion or ratings are inflated a little bit on this site? OTB 1400 players would hardly drop pieces so often..? Can you post your OTB ratings compared to RHP?

yes otb players do...they drop pieces more then a few times..just only matters if the 2nd player notices it

I hardly ever have anyone drop a piece to me en prise. It happens occasionally but I think the ratings on this site are actually a little bit harsh in relation to OTB... that's been my experience anyways.

Real rating 1452, RHP 1292- I blunder way more on this site.

or as previously stated, with more time to think, your opponent just sees those errors here where he might overlook them at a board.

1400-1600 players here do drop pieces and overlook mating attacks. I played against Dutch Defense who is around 1500 and judge for yourself. Game 3552356

So do 1800's... it just doesn't happen very often in my experience.

my OTB rating would probably be about 100 points lower because I spend lots of time on my moves and usually use resources like books or databases too.

Dutch Defense is a 1600 otb player who plays in the 1400s and 1500s on this site. He does not constitute evidence of rating inflation.

We all make mistakes and sometimes you just rattle out moves in the opening without really looking as obviously happened here.

I have also done that. Look at Game 2147039 and I cannot tell you what possessed me to make my 3rd move. I almost resigned immediately although thank goodness I did not.
