I cant believe that 2000+ player can play so weak! I cant imagine how drunk I should be to play like that.....

We all make mistakes and sometimes you just rattle out moves in the opening without really looking as obviously happened here.
I have also done that. Look at Game 2147039 and I cannot tell you what possessed me to make my 3rd move. I almost resigned immediately although thank goodness I did not.
Originally posted by abejnoodExactly! I almost resigned instantly without even waiting for him to play it. Perhaps this is a good indication of why not to resign until you are certain you know that not only are you lost but your opponent knows how to win it.

Originally posted by Dragon FireThis is more believable - I could do something like that in blitz after midnight.

So do 2100s Game 3533889 is an example with apologies to my opponent for embarrassing him.
It was on another site, but my 2400+ rated opponent played 26…Nd7 🙄 and resigned after 27.Qg6. It happens to everybody.

As demonstrated we all can make the most elementary blunders (all except engines which don't make tactical blunders) and the only difference between a 2800 and 1300 player in this respect is the frequency of those blunders.
I find I tend to make my worst blunders when I am so convinced I am better and so focused on my plan that I don't spend any time thinking about what my opponent can do. This has caused a number of losses over the year to players rated considerably below me. This doesn't happen that often but once every 100 or so games I really mess up against someone 600-800 rating points below me. In perhaps half of those cases I somehow manage to claw it back (after all I should be able to give a piece odds to such players and still win) but in the others my position is suddenly so bad that resignation is the only way out.

My OTB rating is 1796. I don't think anyone has been able to show a correlation between RHP and any national or FIDE rating system.
However, if I were to rush things and not use my books I could easily be only 1700. I think there is a good 300 rating points to be had by taking it slowly and carefully and using all the resources that are permitted. If I stop that I have no doubt my rating will rapidly drop back to the lower level as no matter how many times I read those books without them I still want to make the same old mistakes. I am getting too old to learn new tricks.

I did not bother to check all the tabloid type responses so I'm shocked you actually agree with me for once.
Of course, being human, I make mistakes - sometimes quite a lot of them so I may even change my mind if you come up with a sensible response.
