Yes, I did push a lot of pawns, and they were basicly all used to support the knight without any major advantages my opponent could take advantage of.
NORMALLY i do develop my major pieces, with few pawn moves.
Most of you lot have made sweeping generalisations, yet the only specific move pointed out in my game was C6, which isn't a losing move... given what my opponent played.
Just because your opponent didn't take advantage doesn't mean other opponents won't. Stronger player will take advantage and beat you. Bad habits need to be broken.
2.f3 -- very passive, should of played d4, or f4. which would prevent black gaining space with e5.
after d4, lets assume you still play your c6 plan.
f4 -- white has a powerful hold on the centre. and will have no problems developing, whereas black will have to try and justify his prevoius to "weakish" moves...
1. e4 b6 2. d4 c6 3. f4
now what? d5 perhaps? e5
[1. e4 b6 2. d4 c6 3. f4 d5 4. e5]
look at the position, notice how white has lots of space, and at the same time has managed to hinder blacks development. --white has the advantage.
