You know what I am going say.
Toss the Fine book across the room and start with the Open Games.
This is the grass roots of chess.
I recommend reading the Fine book first, and then reading 500 Master Games. Or, first read Logical Chess: Move by Move by Chernev, and then read 500.
Greenpawn34's a lot better player, writer and teacher than I am though, so maybe you should listen to him after all. 🙁
