My rating skyrocketed in the last few weeks to an all time high of 1442. I know that's not much to most of you, but its alot to me (I'de be prouder if it wern't for those timeout winsπ ) Now I'm terrified of moving because I might make a mistake...the pressure is killing me. Maybe I should just resign a bunch of games and get it over with. What do you all think? (I know I'll regret asking this).:'(π

I know how sweet it feels when you enter heights you didn't think was possible!
Congrats again, and well done!
Well done π It is nice rating, 100 more points than the RHP average. I know about the pressure when you do not want to spoil your rating.
Just play carefully, do a quick blunder check of every move (undefended, hanging pieces, possible checks from your opponent and all the same FOR your opponent) and you should be able to quickly stabilize your rating in the middle 1400s, if not more .

Congratulations on your new All Time High....Keep it going !
Never resign, untill there is absolutely no hope left!
Originally posted by duecerYou same to have same problem as I had. If you look at my graph it look very strange. That is so because every time when I would reach new milestone, there was 15 or more games I was losing. So I would desperatly try to overcome that problem with starting 20 new games and win them all, to compensate 15 losing games. That led into problems because I had too much games in progress, I started to blunder more and more and eventually I would become so frustrated that I would resign all games and plan a new "solid" approach.
Oh no, I am at the dizzying hieghts of 1453 nowπ²π²π²π² whatever will I do?π³ the crash is inevitable:'(π
The simple truth is that your rating is stabilized when you can reduce your games in progress to 0 and still hold same rating points.
I had a quick look at your public games, the first few i glanced at seem to be lost for you.Good strategy to rise your rating, any games you are winning continue till completion, any you are losing stall as long as possible. You are correct about your dizzy height, it will be short lived, time for a reality check and afew resignations.
I dont like you play against guys like you, take your losses with some pride.
Maybe I should just resign a bunch of games and get it over with. What do you all think? (I know I'll regret asking this)? What a shame - and you sounded so happy.
But you did ask what we think.
Actually cannot advise on what to do as games in progress.
However let us assume (for the sake of argument) that you were
lost in three games with no throws of the dice left.
Try resigning all three within a second of each other - you never know
it might fool the rating thingy and you might only lose the points
for one game.
