That e3 push is a real nuisance, and I have seen it in reverse before.
I often play the Albin Counter Gambit and get this setup (some pieces missing):
I often sac a pawn or piece and have an attack bearing down my neck.
Just when I get in Bh3, they play e6! with white and kill me.
Bxe6 slows me down/fxe6 drops h3/ Qxe6 Ng5
I can't tell you how many times I have fallen for that trick. It slows down my attack, and I lose. That's part of the reason I spotted it here.
