It doesn't matter, the good thing about these threads are that they give the views of many and you can pick up tips from stronger players and see other players' thought processes. I'm glad one of these has been started up again, good work BlindCheesecake. I have only faced the English about twice and both times against good players who smashed me, I'm sure we'll do better here though.

1..d6

The idea being..

1.e4 ..d6
2.d4 ..c4
3.e4 ..e5

(The last two white moves can be the other way around...)

The computer will exchange Queens (they all do it, they're dumb like that...). With the Queens exchanged the king has a nice square on c7 and is loser to the center for the end game.

Yes Nf6 is more flexible but it doesn't stop d4. Who want to get into a queens gambit or something similar, slow positional game. Bahh, yaya looks like e5 is winning.

Yes but if he plays d4 then we reply 2... c5! then 3. d5 b5 with an exciting game =)
