Ok, so the title is misleading. But I did think it would be interesting to hold 12 games Fritz 11 vs Crafty on my computer with a 4/0 time setting. I figured I'd post the games here. I thought maybe it would be a good learning experience to discuss the games between the two and see what the engines could have done differently.

I'll post 1 game/day, but I'll post the results as they come in...

Fritz 11 will wipe Crafty out. I have beaten Crafty (1500MB) in 2 hour games but I have never even came close to beating Fritz 9 let alone 11.

It's already over. I am surprised it took Fritz that long to win. There must be a setting somewhere to get rid of annotations.

Figured out how to get rid of annotations, but apparently the pgn is still invalid. Working on it, sorry for the delay.

Thanks.

1.) What was I doing wrong? I still can't figure out why mine was invalid.

2.) How did Crafty lose this game? At move 38 Crafty seems to be in complete control to me. I also don't understand 58 Rxa2 by Crafty.

Easy. whites c and d pawns were weak. I just took out the spaces between the pgn tags and the pgn.

A novel idea, but I think your time would be better spent studying and playing. Playing one computer program off against another is much like discovering which crane can life the most weight. It's fun to watch, but you won't improve yourself with this exercise.

Edits: I was experimenting on what you have to fix and apparently it doesn't like ANY spaces except between White's and Black's moves. Ie 1.e4 e5 and not 1. e4 e5

Could you tell me what I'm doing wrong with the PGNs?

Also, this second game was 3 hours for both.
