I think it's a win now for kramnik.

well, fritz doesn't seem to agree with that. 🙂 I just can't understand how black can stop the b pawn? but I guess we'll see...

It must be a win for White if Black exchanges rooks, presumably Fritz thinks the R+2 vs R+1 ending is a draw?

56 ...Rh6 looks pretty good to me. I'm not using fritz or anything but I still think that black has drawing chances.

As mentioned on Chessbase, Chessvibes have some videos of press conferences etc at the Corus event, http://www.chessvibes.com/index.php.

Looking at Topalov's description of his win against Shirov, I'm just dumbfounded how much Topalov can remember from the game, up to move 20 or so from memory and has the ability to recall theory and previous games, all a tad mind blowing. This is the other side of the coin to having the ability to comprehend various combinations several moves ahead.

This man, no matter what you think of his sheenanigans last year re Kramnik, and the other GMs are on a different planet, nay they live in a parallel universe.

Selling his chess board, and seeking a set titanium darts.

a lowly rated patzer.

did Anand feel sorry for Carlsen, in accepting a draw ?

Almost any club player would be able to remember all the moves of serious game he had just played in the pub afterwards (though they might need to consult the scoresheet a few times after six pints).

This is true. I have played roughly 120 rated games and I remember the last 60 or so well enough to play through them without a scoresheet.

Anyway, how about Radjabov? Can he hold the lead or will Topalov overtake him? and does everyone still think Kramnik will win it all?

Going in I thought Anand.

Now I think Rad. Not because he has the lead right now, but because he looks focused, determined and is playing strong.

He's a man on a mission.

Would be nice if Topalov can keep pace until the final rd where Rad would face him.

It looks roughly equal to me. Should be an interesting game.

I'll take your word for it. but it just looked so clunky on move 10 with that pinned knight, other knight on a2, trapped bishop, etc...

I like Black's position in most of the games so far, maybe it will be a clean sweep for Black in this round! Having said that, I like Navara's position better, that bishop on g2 is great and I reckon it will net him at least a pawn.

fritz even prefers navarra +1.36 at depth 16. 🙂 hah, shows what I know... but I'm beginning to see what you mean.

I decided to go ahead and create an account at Playchess (so far I had only logged in as a guest) in order to be able to get ducats. I had hoped that would enable me to hear the commentary already today (as I have time today), but apparently it takes about a day to get the ducats. 🙁 The only way to get them at once is via Click&Buy, and they don't let you register there if you don't have a cell phone. Darn.
Now I am really annoyed. I bought ducats, which cost me 20$ because you can't buy less than 200, and they arrived just fine the next day. But now I just found out that I can't use them because I don't have a serial number. So I digged out Fritz 8 which I got a long time ago, but had never used yet, and found a serial number for Playchess there. I tried several times to enter it, making sure I didn't make any mistakes, but it says the number is not valid. Damn! I don't want to pay another 29$ just to be able to use the ducats I already bought, and for something I thought I had already paid for by buying Fritz 8! And besides, even if I did I'd probably have to wait a day again to get the number. 😞
