Adams V. Nakamura is tomorrow's interesting battle (Saturday). Nakamura's only 16 so Adams has the edge in experience, but of course youth has its own advantages. Hoping for a good game. If England can't win Euro, maybe Adams has a shot here!

Adams thoroughly outplayed Nakamura on both games. But, to tell the truth, the format of best out of two games is a pretty poor method of finding a decent qualifier. It looks like they just wanted to eliminate as many players as soon as possible and get on with the show. Having the tournament in Libya is a disgrace anyway, as the Jewish players could not get equal protection.

Adams won a very nice game against Akopian as White - looks good for the semi-finals. Topalov also won, as did Lenier Dominguez against Radjabov - bit of an upset I guess.

And Khasimdzhanov just beat Grischuk in what looked like a time-scrable finish. So all four White players tomorrow have to win to stay in (which at least makes the 2 game knockout format interesting, even if it is somewhat of a lottery).
