In the game you mention that you are going to use the Tarrasch variation. I will try to do my best here...
Please understand also that I am a weak player and that this game can not be used to conclude that the French defense sucks badly...

You asked; I found. There is a game Oim v. Kovaliov, 2001 Parnu/Tallinn which started 1 e4 e6 2 d4 d5 3 Nd2 Nf6 4 e5 Nfd7 5 c3 c5 6 Bd3 Nc6 (this is the "main line" of the Tarrasch according to MCO-14) then 7 Qg4. So you never know! The game ended in a draw and the line might not be good but, hey, a 2300 played it!

I don't understand this 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3. knight to queen2? is that a good move I know queen bishop 3 is better. then after knight to queen2 black plays p-qb4!
since bb4 can now be met by c3 and chasing the bishop away and gaining a tempo since c3 has to be played in response to c5 to protect the centre.
Alopinto and my game is 728082. I didn't know the opening and he won a Rook early on. He was obnoxious enough to ask for me to resign and then to send me lots of messages about how he was going to take lots of time each move to make sure he didn't blunder. However he played flawlessly as far as I am concerned after that. He wiped the chessboard with me :/.
I forgot how to post links to chess games. Would someone remind me?

You really wanted to continue playing that game? Let us tell like it is AThousand:
"From: Alopinto
Date: Oct 25 21:41
Subject: Politely I ask for your resignation...
My friend,
Our game is already over and now you can only hope for me to blunder some material... I know it is your prerrogative to resign or not but in this case we are not going to learn anything from this technique display or from another gross blunder. I am willing to discuss the game with you and do a post-mortem if you don't waste our time.
Kindly yours,
Alopinto"
I didn't ask for resignation anymore but if there is anything obnoxious in that message please point it out...
Now, lot of messages about how I was going to take lots of time each move to make sure he didn't blunder? Please check the messages I sent you... The only remotely similar thing was this one:
"From: Alopinto
Date: Nov 01 22:41
Subject: Wait five days please
I am going to think about this one for about 5 days..."
And you responded:
"From: Alopinto
Date: Nov 02 00:09
Subject: RE : Wait five days please
Thanks!
>You're welcome to use your timebank any way you like.
>I am going to think about this one for about 5 days..."
There is also this one...
"From: Alopinto
Date: Oct 28 00:24
Subject: Time for me to go home...
Good Night!
I need to take the bus back home so I wont be making more moves today...
Take care,
Alopinto"
And my last message to you:
"From: Alopinto
Date: Nov 03 18:30
Subject: Thanks...
Of course there were no chances in your position..."
Was I in any way discorteous here? I think not...
Asking for a resignation is obnoxious no matter how nice you are about it, in my opinion, unless you can prove in a message how you would force the checkmate and I agree with you. As you saw from our game I did resign when I felt I had no chances. The thing is you and I didn't agree on whether I had chances or not when I dropped the Rook.
There is also no need to tell anyone that you are going to use the time alotted to you in the game. Because it's your time and not mine, and because you asked me to resign and I refused, I assumed those messages were intended to punish me for 'wasting our time' by trying to waste my time and to make it clear that you were doing so. If you were trying to simply be courteous to let me know that you were going to take longer than usual, then I apologize. You don't need to do that for me, however - or anyone really. I generally assume when I start a game with specific time controls that my opponent will use his time as he pleases unless I force a draw or checkmate.
The last message was a response to my congratulating you on the win, and sounds suspiciously like an "I told you so." You were polite; you politely said some some obnoxious things.
If all you are concerned about is learning, you can always offer the draw or resign yourself.
I guess I may have exaggerated when I said "lots of messages" about you taking a lot of time. Two messages, then. I'm sorry for the exaggeration.

Normally when I play correspondence chess I also like to have a friendly exchange of messages with my opponent. You don't agree with that? I am sorry! But I am here to make friends, enjoy the game and have a good time. In that particular position I saw many cheapo-depots and I needed to have a clear picture of what you were about to do and counter it accordingly [ How many games have I thrown in similar situations? COUNTLESS! ] It was not intended to punish you or anything as childish as that...
Besides, after apologizing for the incident we had, I thought that we were over it... It seems to me that you took it too personally and didn't for a second think about what you posted here at the forums making me look like a rude person when in fact I wasn't.
"The last message was a response to my congratulating you on the win, and sounds suspiciously like an "I told you so." You were polite; you politely said some some obnoxious things."
In the last message I am just stating a fact: That you were lost and you had no chances in your positions ("Of course there were no chances in your position..." What is funny is that I was agreeing with you! No obnoxiousness intended... You just took it too personally and magnified inocent messages into something they weren't...
I accept your apologies and wish you a good day...
Regards,
Alopinto
