Never come close...
Best I've done against the grandmaster simulations is a 60-something move loss to Emmanuel Lasker. That's the longest I've ever lasted against a Chessmaster GM. The Chessmaster complimented me for lasting as long as I did against the mighty Lasker.
Of course, before that game, I removed Lasker's Queen, both Rooks, both Bishops, both Knights and seven of his 8 pawns (leaving him with a King and an a-pawn). Somehow, he managed to sneak the pawn past my defenses and queen it. He then took me out piece by piece, until it was my lone King against his K & Q. Even Lasker couldn't screw THAT end game up. My only hope at that point was a stalemate, but alas, my prayers were to no avail.
Indeed, not many people can say that their most embarrassing loss was to Lasker!

all you need is deep fritz8 on a three times slower computer...for example chessmaster10000 on a 2.4 ghz vs deep fritz8 on a 800 mhz.. fritz 8 will win more times then chessmaster will....
I recently played "Der Bringer" against CM 10th, using 5 sec/move, with Der Bringer playing white (again, just having both interfaces open on the same PC). Der Bringer won this game, while playing white I was totally shocked.
I then played Bringer vs CM10th again, but with 10 sec per move, CM playing black. CM10th ended up totally crushing poor Der Bringer.
Der Bringer seems to be a pretty good progarm, and it's a free download. Anyone else have it?
I beat CM 5500 once on a slow computer, with the computer having 5 seconds per move. I don't have the game any more, but I remember it was a Lasker's Defense that became very simplified leaving me with a pawn advantage. I don't try any more against the CM personality. It seems it was just a fluke where I must have happened to stumble across a strong positional move, but I couldn't tell you what it was.

I beat him a few times when I was running CM2100 on a 386 with 1 MB RAM, and once running CM 3000 on a 486 with 32 MB RAM. But not since.
However. I have a few pals that could beat him if they could find a GUI that supports both--Fritz, Hiarcs, Ruffian, and others are just itchin for the contest.

The problem with running engine-engine matches with both interfaces open like that is that both programs will attempt to think in the other ones time and the one with the higher priority will have a large advantage. My understanding (limited, I admit) is that DF8 can't be imported into CM10th, because DF8 is not a "Winboard" engine. And I'm not sure how to get DF8 to recognize "The King", which is the engine that runs CMaster.
Is it possible/easy to import the King into DF 8?
