I agree you can sually tell from a name.
You have missed out famous players names Fischerbuster etc.
Weaker players tend to adopt these names. (Korch 😉)
Slightly disagree with 'boring to play 600's' but know what you mean.
(especially when they refuse to resign).
Remember we were all beginners once. Make it your duty to hammer
them in the mo ...[text shortened]... e
where they went wrong. It's nice to be nice.

I think you are correct but the wording has has to be carefully chosen.
I've always said something at the end of a game and been thanked
for it.
We have locked minds for the past few weeks - cannot let the game
just end without at least a thank you.
But I fully understand the original posters point - been there and
felt the same. You mellow when you get older.

the ones who take well meant advice as an insult, have one thing common: they never get any better. - and I don't mean that my specific advice was all that great, but that their attitude problem prevents them to listen to any advice, ever.

Originally posted by wormwoodTotally agree with you but not all players have the inclination to get better. They are willing to lose 10 games as long as they can score that one brilliant win over a strong player once in awhile.

Also, sometimes a player knows he is bad, so no need to point it out by giving advice. This is not just with chess but other things too... golf, poker, investing, you name it.
Maybe I'm just paranoid from my golfing experiences... nothing more annoying than playing a round with a golfer who keeps dishing out the advice.
