or maybe he'll just 1. Nf3 c5 2. c4
I meet Nf3 with d5 find that it often transposes to a 1. d4 opening (unless of course they planned to play the KIA system from the start)
So what I'm reading is that 1.Nf3 is probably the best transpositional device for white? so... what should I play in order to better understand positions such as 1.Nf3 d5 2.c4 d4? because this variation is the one I would probably least enjoy facing and I'm not too keen on transposing into a Qpawn game.

Nf3 ..d5
d4
I play this response to 1..d5 every game...
Originally posted by Marinkatombmaybe I should start playing 1.d4 then? in order to get familiar with that line... I've almost always played 1.e4 so it would be good none the less.

Thanks for the replies everyone

and I don't play the Slav so...
is it just me, or does a person playing the Sicilian Dragon and the QGD Slav seem like conflicting styles?
prolly just me
Originally posted by cmsMasterI meet d4 with the KID mostly, with the occasional QGD (It's solid and I learned it first)

tbh, I do love the Dragon, but actually prefer playing the white pieces in it. Besides, I know the black side of the Accelerated Dragon way better than the regular Dragon.
