He had to have been using a weak engine or he was putting it on a weak setting...because the games he had definitely weren't at the level of a 2300 like most engine users are...probably thought himself clever for that.

Ha! This is great, because I have worked very hard to go from 1200 rated to 1700 in the past 15 months. And he goes from 1500 to 2000 in 2 months which kinda makes my progress look like crap.
He never hid the fact that he used computers to develop his opening, but would never actually use one during a game and nobody really disagreed with him in the forums but all of a sudden he gets banned and people are all saying how obvious it was.
What will happen now if a weaker player gets hold of a new opening book (with analysis checked by a computer) or a good database (again, most modern grand masters use computers to prepare their openings and can probably memorise upwards of 20 moves)?
