Game 868388
As expected he played 10. Qxd3.
I like 10...e6 here. It allows for rapid development of our two king side pieces, blocks his knights from coming onto our 5th rank, and we can still go ahead and develop our queen. In the fckallie game that I posted above, IronMan31 played 11. Bf4. This queenside castle blocking move can easily be removed through 11...Qa5 12. Bd2 Qc7. One of other possible moves (Qc7), is achieved by playing e6 as well, so I think its all good.
Anybody think otherwise?

Is it true that chess at a really high level ( like this ! ) is just comparing databases until somebody does something dumb or original and thats when the real " playing " starts ? Becuase thats the impression i gte. Me, i don't know a lot about chess so i just imporbise and sometimes win.... you guys are so good , it must feel more like studying then playing :-)
Originally posted by joeriiWhen playing someone like ironman yes, this is all database and will be for some time. The problem here is trying to figure out which games to study. This next move will vary from one gm game to another. I also notice that the higher rated players like to toss in nondatabase moves. I think ironman will do this shortly to try and confuse us. Following a database to play your games is'nt as easy as it sounds, if you don't know why a move was made or what position you're in you can get lost rather quickly if a move is made out of order.

Game 868388
Ironman31 has played 11. Rh4.
I haven't really looked at this yet, so the floor is open... One thing I will say though, is that I'm beginning to lean towards castling king side.

i think we should just resign ... we are playing ironman!!!!!
i spose if it was not ironman then e6 does look sensible .... it allows Bd5, or Ne7, and still leaves 0-0-0 if we want it.
but i cannot help thinking ironman played Rh4 for a reason ... Nd7f6 does seem to limit the rook, before or after e6.
what do we think of:
11 ...e6 12 Bf4 Bd6 13 Bxd6 Qxd6 14 Nf5 and other similar scenarios?
I posted this in the other thread. But it is relevant here.

Two games where IM31 got to the same position...
Originally posted by flexmoreNo, I meant kingside. I had been thinking about castling queenside earlier. kingside looks a whole lot more secure now, especially after seeing what IM did to SirLoseAlot's queenside castle.
did you mean queenside?

e6 seems to be the move to play here alright.
The moves you listed are slightly off. Should be... 11 ...e6 12 Bf4 Bd6 13 Bxd6 Qxd6 14 Ne4
That's pretty much exactly the way it'll go if we play 11 ...e6. Instead of retreating the queen at that point with 14 ...Qe7, why not take the fight to him a little with Qb4? I'd prefer to have Ngf6 played first, but hey?
