Originally posted by Dutch DefenseSorry, I just got challenged after deleting the game with new time controls. No offense, but I don't like playing with a time bank. However, I'm almost finished with a game and that has to end first because I'm not a subscriber (I wish I was though). If you perfer being black, I guess it will be that way.
[b]I'm about to lose one of my games but when it's done, BRING IT ON! (bum bum bum) (whistles) SHOWDOWN. ðŸ˜
Edit: Never mind, I deleted the challenge game. Let's have a nice, clean game. ATTACK! 😀
I'd vote for g4 as the worst move.
Keene and Miles once had an informal contest as to who could beat IM Basman the fastest, given that at time he played 1.g4. See his comments to the Miles game.
vs. Miles, 0-1 21 moves

vs. Keene, 0-1 20 moves

Curiously, the games played out remarkably differently. Miles won with central play, and Keene locked the center and won on the Kingside.
** EDIT **
Whoops, I just noticed that this has already been brought up in the other "Is G4 the worst?" thread.
Imagine that you are playing someone who reads nothing else but opening books -- someone who's on-par with GM's in the opening, and whats more, knows all the plans after his book knowledge is useless.
whats the point in going 15 move deep into KID theory only to lose a "objectivly drawn" position?
hell, against that type of openant, you are propably better of playing obscure moves (like a4) just to steer the game away from opening theory.
