This may sound like a very stupid question, but what is the point of getting your rating up to a high rating then deliberately getting it right back down again, I see no gain from doing this?

So what exactly is the point of what you are doing? which seems to be lowering your rating to well below it's natural level then catch out an unsuspecting player rated around 1700 and even worse starting up a thread about it stating that a 1700 player is in trouble against a 900 player!

That's reverse padding. I've met one or two on playchess who do that and in some instances they allow you to play up to 4 moves resign and then restart the game.

I don't know why someone would do that on RHP but on playchess that might be someone who finds his brother has left the computer logged on to playchess and wants to donate a few of his brothers points.
