It's irritating to have someone respond to Fast Game or Quick Game to the Finish then make three or four moves then vanish. ðŸ˜

Obviously you've not read my last post or you would have found that I DO have an alternate website for fast chess - instantchess.com. I know and accept what correspondence chess is, I wuz jes yappin' 'bout it...like all the other threads yappin' 'bout something. But thanks for making the obvious statement there buddy. Or is that 'sire'? 😉 Take no offense and let's tip a tankard to chess!

Originally posted by Freddie2006Just in case you do not follow what I've said. The thread is NOT about the speed of games but about less than honorable players - this is the real issue. Is it not clear? I'm perfectly happy with the speed of correspondence chess and I'm especially happy with RHP. In fact I shall join this site soon. Ale please!

Originally posted by Freddie2006I agree that a (quick game = 1 move per day)... UNLESS the agreement between two players is to finish the game in ONE session and one player seemingly renegs. If that one player plays turn after turn in succession (in keeping with the prior agreement) then when facing eminent loss, apparently and suddenly stops playing, leaving the opponent at the computer hanging without an explanation, this could be construed as a breech of agreement. So again, I"m not even talking about what you seem to be so consistantly pressing. More ale!

Originally posted by sword4damoclesSeems the agreement was "Fast Game" or "Quick Game" according to your initial post. As I mentioned before, they may well have assumed that this was 1 move per day.

Originally posted by Freddie2006Actually, I did request a "quick game to the finish" and my opponent understood and played accordingly until dissapearing. I apologize if I did not accurately state this from the outset - my bad. I apologize. Ale, ale, ale! Pale Ale evun! On a positive note, I did have two rapid style games after I responded to an individual's request for a "Fast Game". I knew what he meant and we had two very good "Fast Games". Of the games which I expected some kind of adherence to the agreement, I simply resigned and freed up the game space for another opponent. I won't be concerned about this anymore though since as a member I can play as many games as I like. As I stated earlier, RHP will be my staple correspondence site and instantchess.com will be used for rapid games (1 min to 15 minutes) I shall NOT be a member at instantchess.com though. I get enough quick play as a guest for about a one-hour time frame there. Ale and farewell to you sire! Perhaps we shall meet in the future on the chessboard, unless you too are worried about playing someone of a significantly lower rating than yourself.

well, that's what you get going fishing with a tennis racket. you might get lucky and hit a sturgeon in the head, but you'll get a lot more fish using a fishing rod.
play blitz on a blitz site, CC on a CC site. and if you absolutely can't stop yourself climbing the tree backwards: no whining about it.
