The post that was quoted here has been removedThis from a SICILIAN player? :p
English as White, e5 against e4, oddly enough I haven't faced the Sicilian yet so I don't know a line for it.
Against d4... usually d5 and try to get into some sort of Guico Piano structure except on the opposite side.
Originally posted by MoneyMaker7I got smashed when I tried the QGA. QGD is painful. Benoni is ok. KI is ok, QI is more my style. Benko is great fun, and my prefered response. Nimzo Indian is also acceptable, except that I hate playing a Bogo-Indian.
Expand a bit on the black openings...
What about 1. d4?
I didn't mention it before, But I play the Hedgehog against 1. c4 though I have been expirementing with the Rubinstein.

Queen Openings should be played with strong players. Leads to long, strategic games that REALLY help skills instead of fast tactical ones that is just a small training.
Please try not to take away our hard earned intelligence.

Once again, you guys should choose an opening. At your level it's not a good idea to use 2.f4 AND 2.Nf3 - they're totally different.thats nice to know.
first of all your level isnt much better so its useless to point that out.
secondly the topic says favorite openings not most played.
and finally dont need to repeat yourself in every topic about openings.

Maybe he was including himself in that as well?😉
White: Ruy Lopez, Closed Sicilian
Black: Ruy Lopez (strangely enough), QID
Since this has come up so often, how about stating it slightly differently. If you were playing yourself in a match, what is the most likely line that would be played?
At the moment, for me it would be a Ruy Lopez: either a Tchigorin or an a4 anti-Marshall.
Originally posted by SSJ4GogetaSSJ4Yeah, but the difference is that I don't play 2 openings as white against the same response (And I don't play two as black either, though in CC when I have books I'll sometimes spread out a little.)

1450 is not the same as 1600 either. If you don't like my advice than you should either ignore it, or find a different thread.
