Hi Wulgbr, some of the programs i played did not allow it, and even then it was hopeless! there are methods for beating the things, and some players have it down to an art form. My only win was against the Linux based GNU chess, which is fairly strong by comparison, a kings Indian attack, it sticks out, for it was the only one. I never ever won a game against the winboard engine, no not once, although i managed to draw once with a Colle game. i dont play them any more, well , just occasionally, a little Java based program called supreme chess, which isn't very strong, but still wupps me.
