The post that was quoted here has been removedI guess, but he's lost is place now. I definitely didn't appreciate the gravity of the situation at the time of creating this thread, so yes i suppose he was right. What happens now? I can't see this being re-scheduled this year most likely. Kramnik suggested online! Not sure everyone would agree with him but they do need to finish it. We could even get our first official timeout due to loss of internet connection! 😀

Is Radjabov having the last laugh ? Or , at least, a big "I told you so"...

@paul-leggett saidYes i see that there is now an open letter demanding Radjabov be allowed back in. I can't see that happening personally, how do you remove MVL when he is leading the tournament? IMO Radjabov should automatically get the wild card for the next candidates, regardless of the host nations privileges. It's not a perfect solution, but he deserves to play! He won the bloody World cup, a 128 player knockout against the best in the World. That is easily the toughest event to win in chess IMHO (WC aside).
I'm inclined to think that no one wins here. No matter how matters are resumed or resolved, there will be someone unhappy with the result, and probably for good reason. Kobayashi Maru.
The way things are looking, i can't see this getting completed this year. How many tournaments have now been rescheduled to October/November? It is going to be chaos when things get back to normal. I expect a lot of events will end up cancelled completely.
