Whilst I actually agree with the philosophy of what you are saying this is nevertheless a cc site, if you were saying it to a cc player on a live chess site your arguement would then have merit. What would you say to someone that went to a pole vaulters convention and starting saying their high jump wasn't as valid as high jumpers because they relied on using a pole

Yes but you have to look at the context of the question - how is a CC rating comparable elsewhere? Many here also play OTB/Online Chess and so use here to prepare for those events.

However I also understand that for quite a number OTB is not feasible and so they only play CC. However quite a few used to play OTB beforehand and so they should keep the same moto.
