You guys , after we play 4.cxd5 Bxf3 , we must not get our pawn structur damaged, we must play 5. dxc6 leaving us with an undamaged pawn structure . I'm not sure of this but sooner or later I'll go for 4.cxd5 as it is the best move we can play now that Black doesn't have an e6-pawn in aid .

Okay, more database information which I think is very important. Bg4 was the only good move the computer had, so it's no surprize. According to database, our common, and high scoring moves are
move games % average rating performance
cxd5 894 56 2312 2330
Nc3 536 62 2333 2379
Qa5 109 59 2351 2359
Qa5 seems to be a pawn sacrifice, so I wouldn't advise it.
Nc3 looks sound, scores the best, and is highest in the other catagories as well.
cxd5 is met by Bxf3 gxf3 Qxd5 e3 with 59% We've forced the bishop pair, and center control, at the cost of doubled pawns, and development.
I'm voting for Nc3. It leads to a more standard Queen's gambit declined position.
I do believe 4. Nc3 is indeed the best move. 4. Qa4 is far too ambitious and does not fit in our goal of keeping the game as close as possible. I do not like 4. cxd5 because it seems to fracture our pawn structure. After 4. cxd5 Bxf3 we could play 5. dxc6, but I do not know anything about this move. However it seems logical black replies 5. ... Bxc6. It is not mentioned in my standard opening book, so it is possible that this move is not sound. Maybe do you have something about this move in your database ark13? For now I stick with 4. Nc3 wich is, as ark states, sound and scores the best.

Originally posted by SeVeSIt seems okay to me, but only scores 51%, as opposed to gxf3 which scores 59%. dxc6 is met with Bxc6. I actually think this might be a good option now that I look at the position. It's very simple. We have the advantage of two central pawns, and one is already advanced. He has his bishop out, but it's our move. I'd say this is a very drawish position. For that reason, I'm changing my vote to cxd5. This line again (which is pretty forced is) cxd5 Bxf3 dxc6 Bxc6. I think we have a slight advantage.

Originally posted by SeVeS4. Qa4 is M.C.O. column 3. The assessment of the variation they give is dynamic equality, but the lines after cxd5 are assessed as equal as well. I think that both variations are reasonable. The main line of the opening involves us getting doubled pawns - I don't think it is something that can be avoided. People wouldn't play Nf3 if it were that much of a problem.
Well, this is no suprise. Theory says 4. cxd5 Qxd5 and we transpose in the exchange variation of the Chigorin. Also possible 4. ... Bxf3 5. gxf3 Qxd5 and our pawn structure is messed up. Another unexplored line is 4. Qa4 but this seems far too ambitious. What do you people think?
4. Nc3 is given in a footnote. The reason it scores highly is things like 4. Nc3 e5 5. cxd5 Bxf3 6. gxf3 exd4 7. dxc6 dxc3 8. cxb7 +/- Andreason - Yeo Manchester 1980) but CHESS's book will have 4. ... e6 5. Bf4 Bb4 6. e3 Nge7 =
