Let's follow the variation ark pointed out: 5. dxc6 Bxc6 and we have an open c-file and a strong centre. Doesn't look bad indeed. It costed us a pawn and I do hope that we are strong enough to make full use of the sacrife. This isn't a vote yet, however it seems the strongest reply. I'll think more about when I have the time for it.

It doesn't cost us a pawn.

dxc6 scores only 51%, while gxf6 scores 59%. However, I think the resulting position after dxc6 looks very even and drawish. We'll have good central control, and a solid position. So I'm voting for dxc6.

No, you are right. I missed that we actually CAPTURED a pawn last move. My bad. Must have something to do with mondays. Well anyways we look in good shape.

There's a problem with this thread . We're losing more voters and voters as the game proceeds . Without enough voters , it's going to be really boring . I'm making a new rule , if there are no voters in consecutively 12 hours , I am not going to bother to carry this game on , arc13 and SeveS are only playing attention as well as a few other frequent people like skims and MikeXXO . I wish you all we win , but the point is with only six people voting , it would seem like a bunch of idiots against a computer : IF THERE ARE ANY LOGICAL THINKING BRAINS OUT THERE , WE NEED YOU AGAINST A MACHINE .

gxf3 is column 1 and dxc6 is column 2 of MCO p. 477. The resultant positions are all assessed as fairly drawish, but people seemed concerned about getting doubled pawns. Doubled pawns can be a pain,

so I vote for: dxc6

I surely want you to join and participate in this game. This is also a learning game. As all of the players who are activily involved can learn from each other. So please and join and participate in the discussions. Just make sure you think about the position before you post your vote. You could always wait untill the other players have shared their thoughts.

I agree with you SicilianNajdorf. The only way this game can be fun is with as many participants possible. Only in this way we can learn from each other and maybe stand a chance to draw this game. We could try to carry it on, as the game might interest people more as it proceeds. But it's your call as you are hosting the game.

3 for 5.dxc6
New Rule : If by half of the day , the top vote is winning by the second most top vote by more than 8 votes , i might automaticlly make the move . If more than 5 votes are recieved for this rule , then this rule shall begin , please vote for the new rule as well , or if you're a patient person , you don't need to vote . If this rule is started and a move is made in half time , then the next move voting will in the day after , as if the rule had not started . You guys know what I mean , right ?
By the way , to Mike , whether you're a granmaster or beginner you can vote regardless of strength , an idiot could turn into a grandmaster anytime , you never know , do you ?

SicilianNajdorf I do not know if I fully understand your new rule, could you explain it a little further. And if I count correctly we have 3 votes for 5.dxc6 and 1 vote for 5. exf3. Since Mike voted for this move. I will vote tomorrow.
