It is pretty easy actually: go to the game history, follow the moves until you reach the position in question then simply click on the Get PGN link, at the bottom of that lies the fen you need. Copy it, then click insert fen and paste 🙂. L ...[text shortened]... + and 19.bxc + - ) 18.Ng7+ Kf8 and draw by three-fold repetition.
16.Nxg7+ Kf8 17.Ne6+ Ke8 18.Qxc3 Nxc3 19.Nc7+ Kf8 20.bxc3 and white is better in my opinion. Example (not to be taken as an analysis): 20.... Rc8 21.Nd5 Bg5+ 22.Kg2 Re8 23.c4 Rxe5 24.Bf3 bxc4 25.Kc3 and 26.Kxc4. White may not be winning yet, but has the advantage.

31 ... Rd4 was pretty neat, drawing the white rook off the first rank. Followed by 32. Rxd4 Qf1+ 33. Kg4 f5+ 34. Kh4 Be7++

Game 1132309
My (Black) move 23 won the game,
Nice little sac I think 😛
Just completed a game where move 21 is probably one of the best moves I have ever made. There was a mate threat and I had to think of something drastic. Thought of a queen sacrifice at the time just to avoid mate. This lead onto chasing my opponent's king with my rook until I managed to force a queen/king fork.
If black played 23. d6 then 23. ..Rd7+ 24. Kxd7 Ne5+ (queen/king fork again)
I did blunder away my rook later in the game and I was close to losing, but managed to recover and force a draw.
Game 1316999
Nice thread! Just working through all the games.
From my own archives, I think two moves stand out. The first one is in Game 741205 (move 23). The Kt on c3 is a lost cause, and moving it (after 23. ... b4) would ensure a rapid collapse of the position. So, more out of desperation than brilliance, I double rooks on the open g-file. After the exchange of rooks, the Black B on f8 is a passive by-stander to the game and, in terms of active material, we're even.
My opponent was ranked over 400 points above me at the time.
Originally posted by lucifershammerThe second one is 17. g5!? in Game 679709. My opponent has a weakened fianchetto position because the light-coloured Bishop is on the other side. Even so, breaking through such a position is easier said than done. g5 ensured that the subsequent f3 was no good and allowed me to break through.

Originally posted by ark13I think most of us realise that we're quite useless at the game so who are we to judge brilliancies? Certainly not me. Maybe a judging committee made up of the top five players (or a decent sample of the top ten or 20) would agree to judge an annual award? Prizes could be free subscriptions, for example. You'd need some weeding out process to limit the nominations, though.
Go ahead and post your games. There wasn't much interest in making this a competition, so it has become more of a friendly, brilliant move archive.
Originally posted by ark13I was wondering why the results were never posted. I am continuing to visit this thread myself, because I like to see all the games posted. They are all really good.

I'm not sure if I agree that you're not qualified to judge brilliance. Brilliance is just something that looks good, and is unexpected. It comes at all different levels. I don't think it's only a Grandmaster who can play a brilliant move. Anyone who finds something unexpected that helps their game has played a brilliant move. Even if it's not perfectly sound.
But I only received a couple of voters, so I couldn't really decide a winner.
Game 1042490
I thought 13. ... bxh2 was pretty good and deep and I'd been angling for this precise position for a few moves. It went onto a long and harrowing (for me) king chase knowing that if it didn't work, I was sunk. I erred on move 26. ... and the game was up pretty quickly. You can't give these guys any breathing space.
