Oh, of course. That makes Nd2 a weaker move as well then. Ok, Bd2 looks nice. 😉

More food for the mind 🙂
Let's see 6. Nd2 (Berger's variation?)
1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 exd4 4. Nxd4 Qh4 5. Nb5 Bb4+ 6. Nd2 Qxe4+ 7. Be2 Qxg2 8. Bf3 Qh3 9. Nxc7+ Kd8 10. Nxa8 Nf6! (Rosenthal-Steinitz, Baden 1876; I can't found a complete record of the game)
from here:
11. a3 Rd8+ 12. Be2 Bc5 13. Nb3 is analysis by Schlechter.
but why to stop here? In the final position black wins by:
13. ... Bxf2+ 14. Kxf2 Ne4+ 15. Kg1 Re6 16. Bg5+ Nxg5 17. Qd3 (or 17. Bg4 Qe3+ 18. Kg2 Qe4+) Re3 18. Qd1 Qh4 and white is defenceless.
While this last analysis cast me some doubts, it is not the kind of game I'd wish to play against a machine...
Cheers
Id be happy for the bishops to get exchanged and still go for a mating attack. after
6. Bd2 Qxe4+ 7. Be2 Kd8 8. 0-0 Bxd2 9. Qxd2
We have soooooo much control and development. Blacks king is sitting right where our rooks can easily line up . We are already starting to make threats. Nothing that Fritz will fall for, but thats not the point of threats since we always assume the other player will see them. They are however restricting Fritz's play.
To me this is whites game. All the pieces developed to some extent, the open files couldnt be more perfect for the rooks. The c1 knight can come out with tempo attacking the black queen. Our queen ready to jump into the game.
Even if we dont mate fritz we are going to slap it around a bit.

Qh4 until a game recently with TRACKHEAD21. I played it safe with 5 Nc3 and got an inferior game almost immediately(the game's still in progress, but looks like 0-1). This line looks far more promising and aggressive for White and I can't wait for the next 4 ..... Qh4!!!

Kd8 is what we have.
I say we get the king out of the center and start looking to line up the rooks on those sexy e and d files.
0-0 :-)

or c3 first, then O-O, which prevents Fritz swapping off the dark squared bishops
I don't think it's better, just putting it forward for discussion
It deprives both knights from a good square.
It could follow
8. c3 Bc5 9. 0-0 a6
with a position I personally don't like too much.
Cheers

I agree with 8. 0-0.
Possible answers by black are
8. ... Bxd2+
8. ... Nf6
8. ... Ne7
and 8. ... Bxd2+ seems to be the only acceptable (book) move.
