We cant use the RHP voting system right now and recs dont seem to be a good idea to use. Id suggest using the voting system of another site. There is FW, we can just post a link to the thread here. People can go and vote.
A lot of people hold something against FW. But this is just a game of chess, dont let past baggage get in the way of a good time.
What do you all think?

1) 1. e4
2) 1. d4
3) 1. Nf3
4) 1. c4
And then everybody who wants to vote, just posts a message ONLY containing the number that they want to vote for, and the total votes so far that move.
This would get rid of the hassle of having to register at another site and even though there are free online poll websites out there, there would be no way to ensure that everybody only voted once.
Seems easy enough.

I'll let fritz run till it settles on a move and isnt jumping about. Is that fair ?
What time control will Fritz be set on?
Originally posted by GrayeyesofsorrowI gave my program eight hours a move. I tried infinite time but after five thousand mins. and it had not moved nor had it ever considered another move I gave up on that time control. If I were to run my program for a game like this I guess I would have to use equal time or infinite time and use force move. P.S. 999 mins. a move is not enough time.

I think we need to do more than just put out a second move suggestion; we should decide what opening we want to play as White. I'd opt for the Scotch and therefore play Nf3 but the Vienna or even the Bishop's opening might be good choices, too. They may be ancient, but their are good lines in them for White. I also think that these openings tend toward some early minor piece exchanges which will make the positions less tactical. I know a lot of you luvvvvvvvv the Lopez, but to me, it's 20 moves deep of book and I don't think that's terribly interesting, against Fritzie or a human. So I vote 2 Nf3 and the Scotch (it's possible Fritzie might play the Petroff, which is another opening with a good possibility of early exchanges) but would like to throw 2 Nc3 and 2 Bc4 out for discussion.
