You can't choose to play the Dragon Sicilian as white. Black must play g6 after 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 5. Nf6 Nc3.
The most common line is the Yugoslav attack.
1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 5. Nf6 Nc3 6. g6 Be3 Bg7 7. f3.
There are a huge number of lines and variations far too many to list here.

In my experience, you have to be really aggressive while playing it as Black as most of my victories against it have come due to Black chickening out and playing a passive move at some stage in the game.
Ok thanks. I mean is it a good attack to play for black?

Fischer said that in Dragon even intermediate player playing white can beat the Grandmaster - because white has very clear strategy how to attack the black king.
Karpov said that in his experience people played against him Dragon abt 20 times - he won 19 and drawed one.
In fact u can see that this line is almost never is used by Grandmasters.
BUT - don't remember where - I read that in one of his matches against Karpov Kasparov prepared a strong novelty in Dragon, but they didn't play Sicilian from that moment.

Im sure fisher said that but he said all kind of nonsense like: the french mainline is a refutation of the french defence😕
Lots of grandmaster play the dragon it including KASPAROV.
Originally posted by RBHILLNo you didn't. I know this because I've been studying the Dragon on and off for nearly 6 months now and I'm nowhere near finished.
This is a great opening. I just studied it today.
You can't study something as broad as the Dragon in a day. You could maybe do one sideline of the Yugoslav attack in that time.

I prefer taking the White side of the Dragon but have often found myself in situations when I would cower and I use sidelines of the Yugoslav [I even play like a girl as I told one opponent here when I used a move by a Mexican female master 🙂 ] This is truly a very complex opening and I respect people willing to take the Black side.
One thing: If Black manages to go to an endgame, White is done more often than not...

And by the way just because I said I just studied the Dragon doesn't mean that I am done studing it. LOL
