Holy cow. I'm new here, but can clearly see that this fighting could go on forever. It's really rather discouraging. Truth is I have no idea who is cheating and who is not, but seems to me it would be darn near impossible to prove in an apodictic fashion.
In my heart I would like to think that every one is honest, and would never stoop to cheating, but I'm not naive. When youi get alot of people together, it's gonna happen sooner or later. That's the human race for you.
Myself? I'd rather have the joy of winning or the agony of losing on my own brains merits or lack thereof, whatever the case may be.
And if someone used a computer against me, well, I suppose I'd just think DEEPER to try to beat the durned thing.

[b]Accusations of cheating by use of an engine are impossible to prove without user admission. It doesn't matter how sure you are, or that X user always makes the same move as X engine, you cannot prove anything. This has been stated before and it still stands that accusations of cheating are not welcome in the forums, and that if you have a problem with a specific user then you should take it up privetly with the admin.
All posts that name people as cheating have been removed. Reaccusations that name specific users (or leave little doubt as to who the accusation is refering to) or groups (eg. someone in X clan) will also be removed. Non-specific discussion as to whether cheating is occuring or not and whether cheats should be 'outed' can continuebut keep it poilte please.

Cmon Trackhead...I know the game your referring to and i am aware of the accusation you made about him. I looked at the game myself (without an engine) and I really don't see how you accuse someone of using Shredder while they miss a mate in three not once but twice! Just drop the accusations and lets get back to enjoying our games.

Originally posted by TRACKHEAD21Trackhead21, I'm finding the discrepancy between the quality of your chess and the quality of your discourse rather alarming. So instead of concentrating on the 18 waiting games I have (I wish I never starting reading this thread) I feel compelled to point some of them out.
there was no consultation. I believe this means that someone cant sit here and tell me where to move and also covers engine use which is also a third party. But as I was telling TovMauzer she only had permission to play 4 games, 2 were ...[text shortened]... eral years shy of that happening, ah oh well I can dream and hope.
1. The only person that we have proved has broken any rules is you by letting your 'girlfriend' play some of your moves (by your own admission).
2. You don't recognise that someone else playing for you goes way beyond consultation.
3. You seem to care an awful lot about winning and losing, yet also happy to let your 'girlfriend' play bad moves for you.
4. You say that you hope you can get your 'girlfriend' up to speed so that she can have her own account; well you should be aware that she can have her own account at any level, additionally it's free up to six games.
5. You say that now she has her own computer there will be no further problem, ever though of just logging yourself off rhp and letting her on.
6. You were happy to name lower players you suspected but not higher ones. Surely the logic would be that the higher players would be cheating all the time and these would have priority on the naming and shaming.
I don't see any of the other top player getting involved in this kind of discussion, on the balance of probabilities I'd say eyeqpc was on to something and Trackhead21 and CKD are the same.
FNM, ever heard of innocent until proven guilty?
One persons opinion does not constitute proof. Trackhead himself has said that someone being able to post a lot about chess knowledge doesn't mean that they aren't cheating, so why should he be allowed to cast unproven accusations. Conversly, if he were allowed then surely everyone is allowed to do the same.
The rule still stands - no accusations please.
If anyone has a constructive idea about how engine use can be tackled then post it in site ideas. But until there is a site recognised procedure for spotting & stopping engine users we don't want people taking the law into their own hands.

Originally posted by belgianfreakYou must have misread my post, because that is what I meant. I do not think Trackhead should continue with this therefore I asked him to stop. I am just saying that accusing him for cheating, and announcing that the players he mentioned are not cheating is just as bad, because just like Charles cant be 100 percent sure that someone is cheating, so cant boris ravello and everyone else on this site be sure that someone is not cheating, or that charles is cheating in this case.
