This is a really really broad thread, but I'm just wondering how you tell when there's a brilliant tactical move to be made. And which openings lead to the most tactical games? I might lose a few at first but I want to really nail the tactical aspect of chess. Any comments, suggestion, training tips, etc. about tactics would be great.

Some people who spend all day staring at a computer screen want to go home and study tactics, but not on a machine they've been sitting in front of for 8+ hours.
Books are wonderful bedtime companion, too! No matter how many computers we have, there will always be a place for books!
