Naiditsch said 'Wow!' when he saw Bxd5.
The exact quite was:
----
"16... Bxd5 Wow! We see 16...Bd5!? this move is a big surprise! Usually such a
move cannot be good for Black and logical play would be 16...Qb8, but considering
the speed of Gelfand playing it, it is clearly still a preparation. "
----
Be interesting to see what the souped up boxes say about Bxd5.
Well 10/10 for Anand for trying to spice things up with 1.e4.
10/10 for Gelfand for home prep.
Join us tomorrow for another exciting game.

I must admit, the game had one interesting move: 16. ... Bxd5 looked like a Patzer's move. As Greenpawn says that was the TN, it must have been part of Gelfand's pre-match preparation.
Quote from player who would be outplayed by both contenders with his "spectacular play".
I may have been being just wee tad sarcastic.
But the Gelfand game plan is becoming clear.
He will draw 11 games and in the 12th. his last White, he will play the TN of TN's,
A move that will make 90% of opening theory defunct and have the
world's GM's IM's FM's and anybody else with an M worshipping his name forever.
This Gelfand Gambit will go down as the greatest gift to chess since one
Captain Evans gave the world 4.b4!!.
Skip the rest of this thread till game 12.

Why do you observe such a boring match? Amateur tournament is gonna suit you much more.
Also, before every game I have again some hope about something spectacular...which is lesser and lesser game by game...

Forget the 'Evergreen Game', forget the 'Immortal Game.'
This will be known as 'The Glorious Twelth' and May 28th, the day of the 12th game
will hence forth be known as 'Chess Players Day'.
Chess players all over the world will light their Gelfand candles and embrace each other.
The 28th of May is Reti's Birthday. Gelfand will play 1.Nf3.

Can someone explain why this was so clearly a draw?
Of course,at our level play continues, someone does something stupid and TADAA! we have a result
That's why we don't get to fight for the crown 🙂

If you put this position in the best chess engine at the time, lets say its shreder, and then you put both contenders to play it against it with their respective colours, will they be able to draw it from here on?
Edit: And I mean all games af the match.
